Telemann operas are kind of curate eggs. The music is often very pleasing and yet they fail to hold your interest for long. Compared to Vivaldi´s operas, let alone Handel´s, they are not theatrical enough. This Flavius Bertaridus is one of the best recordings of a Telemann opera so far, second only to René Jacob´s Orpheus in Harmonia Mundi. It is also the first recording of a Telemann opera with an Italian orchestra and many none-German singers.
As I said, the music is pleasing, typically Telemann´s.

Well, well, well, so am I. I listened to the first two CDs on repeat yesterday. I really do enjoy these gorgeous pieces and the Klára Würtz performances are superb (to my ear). I have been listening to the Maria João Pires of late so it was good to return to the performances by Ms Würtz.
I am delighted that you do, I rate here cycle very highly indeed. I am also fond of the Maria João Pires box set, it is available on Brilliant Classics at a good price.
Seán, the other version of this cycle that I have and have just started to listen to again is the Uchida one....
Whereas I do like the very good Klara Wurtz cycle the playing of Uchida is in a different class altogether; much more fluid, beautiful phrasing and very Mozartian.

I would be interested in your comments on that CD if you have finished listening to it Darren.
