I tried Bughead sometime ago. Better than Foobar or Winamp but nothing special compared to Mqn really.
There is another free and very good player Korg Audiogate.
My top list of the free players (SQ):
1. Mqn (unbeatable so far)
2. Chinese Foobar XA + it's own modded Asio4All (sounds fantastic with Foobar 0.83 functionality) almost as good as Mqn

3. Aplayer (Album Player) Very, very good russian player. There's folder called Extras in the package worth looking at - full load to ram (asio, wasapi, KS) and DSD 256/512 support.
http://albumplayer.ru/english.html

4. Winamp 5 + Maiko WASAPI plugin (discontinued) very good.

5. all the rest...

oh I forgot about Minimalist Audio Player(discontinued): http://andy-audioplayer.blogspot.com/

Sorry George, I thought everybody was aware of my warped sense of humour!
Had a read of the bughead site linked by Gordon that is the first I ever heard of it.
it all sounded very wacko to me. Are we not all fully paid up cult worshipers of the gospel of MQn?

I don't know much about that player, Tony is talking about, but I wanted to tell you to fix your stuff asap. These new MQn versions are killers.
You are missing a lot...:(

I bet there are many who look in on this part of the forum & think the same - "completely wacko, the lot of them" - I mean who would take seriously the idea of how a variable is stored in the rendering program would change the sound?
Who would take seriously the notion that changing the clocks on the mobo would improve the sound?
It's all relative, really.

uploaded 8.97/3.84 avx2 aa/gk/aleg ie for hugo/cuinas/aleg devices

think it's an improvement over previous version ? could be the final version, never heard the music sound like this before.

unlike a cult you can try this for free and hear results (or not)

playing about with the settings in createfile function - used for opening the wav file and opening the device.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 85%29.aspx

seem to make a difference

Am I too late to the party with my tusb string (may work for the several other WaveIO users with v 0330 firmware) and on behalf of 'Normal' users -

\tusbaudio_enum#vid_20a0&pid_4143&ks#0330#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\pcm_out_02_00

Hope not as the reports are so universally good.

Cheers
Jonathan
