Tried 8.93 aa + 3.77.
In Oscar Peterson "You look good to me", the piano intro is more forward in 8.93 aa in comparison to 8.92 aav15 + 3.73, which is more recessed. Which is more accurate? I don't know...
Which do I prefer? 8.93.

Edit: listening to several other tunes (mostly prog rock), 8.93 aa resolves more detail and has better soundstage.

Gordon, I did but pretty short as I am implementing the Acourate Convolver at the moment in my RAMOS.

I could not recognize a problem with the need to close 3.78 here. Maybe because I use MQnload? Both .78 avx2 and .77avx2 run well but not with my hardcoded 8.91 oct 2 (.75 - .77 don't do that as well) Regarding SQ I would still see the combination 3.74 with 8.91 oct 2 in the front, a little bit more detail and clearer bass. Might be because of the individually hardcoded version?
3.74 & 8.92 oct 2 > 3.78 avx2 & 8.92 avx > 3.74 & 8.92avx

Just my 1cent due to the lack of time

Playing just Normal:
8.92 & 3.74 (>) 8.92 & 3.77 > 8.91 & 3.72, the last a bit less clear.
Listened to orchestra, choir, piano, soprano

3.78 and 8.93 dev aa combination is excellent. Closing mqnplay with task manager no problem.

you should be able to create a batch file with the kill statement from mqn.bat to stop mqnplay.

interesting that some people like 3.74

vs 2015 has a setting for AVX2 code compile, so that's why there's an AVX control version

For normal use there's no real issue with mqnplay and no need to use taskmanager , just load up the next track or album and play. It's only a nuisance if you need to stop/start and even then it's trivial.

Sound is superb though.

Hadn't tried to load up the next track. Previous mqnplays would complain the program was already loaded and would not play the new selection.

I would have less of an issue if mqnplay would be running in the background and readily accept new lists of tracks when the previous has finished.

As you say the sound quality of 3.78 is superb.

Cheers

Wouldn't that be caused by the combination with the hardcoded version?
At least in my case the hard coded 8.92 oct2 did not work totgether with 3.75 - 3.78avx2.

Listened a bit more and have changed my mind:

8.92 & 3.77 > 8.92 & 3.74

3. 74 - some edge on the sound
3.77 - more presence and life on voices, solo flute, all

uploaded control 3.80 normal and avx2, some settings were missing from control and found a new setting to try. Quite a subtle change, more musical ? this one affects play as well.

3.81 + 8.94 is the best I've heard, 3.80 was a bit polite, so removed a setting from play and control, gives it a bit more life. uploaded an aa and aleg version.
