Thanks for that Seán!
Harsh! I heard some of the solo works at a recital recently and it encouraged me to dig out this disc again. I think the music is really great, and the performances here are full of passion. I'd recommend it.Jose Echenique wrote:A pianist I know described it as "Rachmaninov without the tunes".Seán wrote:I am not familiar with Medtner's music at all.Diapason wrote:
I actually like it a lot.

I do have it Sean. It is very good, but not qualitively superior to the other Bohm version (BPO?) to any significant extent.Seán wrote:I love these two performances, I would like to get a copy of the Böhm led Staatskapelle Dresden recording of the Ninth. Does anybody here have it? I think that Darren might, I'm not sure though.
Fergus, who are the performers on that recording? It's a gorgeous cover I must say.fergus wrote:
This is a really beautiful production in every way!

With René Jacobs at the helm, I wouldn't expect anything less.fergus wrote:Seán wrote:

Sorry Seán, I posted the wrong image! Yes it is gorgeous in every detail from packaging to production!
