i did that to a relay on kens mono with same result no contact, had to be replaced

ive three amps here two that had issues and the first prototype that needs front and rear panels but thats well soak tested so should be fine
the faulty two are fixed and have 3-4 hrs each on and running stable
ill give then another day each and ill call em good

ill host another meet to tidy up everything else take some photos etc 24 feb sat

Great work guys....always knew you would sort these issues once you got some quiet time away from the busy full on Saturday group work.

Some crazy stuff was happening when we were all in full "Gung Ho" mode at Nige's these past few weeks....I have all the burns still healing from soldering and heat guns grabbed in haste.

Lets not mention all the back to front wiring...broken taps...bright flashes of light...puffs of smoke...loud bang of capacitors blowing up...ratchet wrenches becoming space heaters, etc.

All good fun and great memories to be laughed at later!!!

Did the intermittent hic-up in the amp you had get sorted?

my favorite was resting the ratchet wrench across the battery pack, and the capacitor exploding that was loud

now extra special bonus round................
there is a fault........... actually there is two the right voltmeter was doa needs to be replaced
the other one is working perfect

so whats wrong with the reading? and whats the likely issues?

Might have missed setting the voltage or incorrectly set it or some one robbed a battery or ...

Voltage was correct yesterday and all batteries are present

Longshot: maybe there something shorting the battery cell(s) and they got flat?

Just measure the voltage on each cell. If it is nominal on each cell, they this may be faulty volt indicator only.

its rhetorical question

ive already stated the voltmeter is correct and ive already fixed it,
its just been another reminder why the voltmeters are there and their importance especially during testing
ensuring they were assembled correctly :)

ah-hem

It will work surely but there was two cells not getting charged
And had been discharged to 0.5v but is fine now

In fact the lm3875 will continue to work until one of the rails hit 12v dc
A lot off cells could be dead at that stage
That is why all the fail safe measures are in place

In reality though it's unlikely anything will happen unless there's a assembly error
a couple days run in will present these after that all will be rosy
