I have been told by a reliable source that it is best to keep the clock(s) working all of the time.
Keep the DAC playing music constantly if you can.
Repeat modes are a necessity.

Oscillators need a run in time states it in most data sheets
So there will be a little edge to the sound but will start to reall flow after a Few tens of hoursof
But still shouldnt sound bad as such oob
It sounds great oob...

Mine is wired up with basic supply and has been running in for the last few days. Waiting to see what Nigel does before I start modding! I really don't want to trash this one.
Interested to know where Nigel finds are the optimal points to inject the battery power supplies and what components can be safely removed?
Do the Party Pack filters from the 1021 run ok on the 1121?
Val

Is it worth it to replace the F-1 I2S 3.3v supply to the Soekris with a separate low noise PS? I know it's recommended for the spdif.

Do you mean the iso 3.3V on J3?
At some point, I started using a lifepo3 battery to power iso 3.3V and the amanero I was using at the time.
It was clearly better with a lifepo3 then with a cheap PS.

Hi Randy, yes I mean just at J3. When you say 'and the amanero', you mean you had two 3.3v supplies or fed both with one? I don't want to mess with the F-1, but I have spare salas shunt boards I can power J3 with if it's worth the effort...

I powered both the amanero and J3 with one power supply. I think it would be worth it to provide good power to J3.

the largest benefit would be to power the f-1 id prioritise doing that with your shunts
