PC: Win 8.1 x64 pro, cpu Q8400, 8GB Ram, Dac HRT Music Streamer II+, Asus Xonar Essence ST (the same since very first MQn versions) + head set/amplifier (I'm headphone guy).

Last working version was 8.16 and 7.44 earlier.

my KS Studio "log", hope this helps (working fine BTW):

think I see the problem, I've restricted it to render devices, but you just have audio devices, post the full name like mine above and I'll make a version to test if that's the issue.

Not that it is of much help, but I'm also not able to get recent MQns to work on my Win8.1 desktop while each version works flawlessly on my 2012R2 AudioPC.
On both machines the USB devices are shown as both KSCATEGORIE_AUDIO and KSCATEGORIE_RENDERER in the Categorie Aliases

That's excellent news.
Name of my device is:
"\\?\pci#ven_13f6&dev_8788&subsys_835d1043&rev_00#4&30d54f48&0&00f0#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223196}\aa_wave"

uploaded a jd version

am trying to get it parameterised, but no luck yet. I'll do a few more fixed device versions because I think there is quite an improvement in SQ.

no sound, unfortunately, but if I press the play button in KSStudio, the music flows.
If you're interested, this is the KSStudio log
