it was a long and busy day!!

I have one more of the two I brought home with me fixed up, been running now about 3 hours and all seems well. I'll tackle the other one shortly but I think I know whats wrong with it. On reflection this bit of troubleshooting is completely normal and to be expected. Its been this way on every amp I've ever built.....

Ok my two here's working now,
On the faulty psu one rewired the amp chips with twisted pairs but that didn't solve the hum buzz and dc voltage
Bridged amp psu gnd and signal gnd and solved the issue
Must have been some sort of oscillation between signal and power gnd

Replaced rectifier on psu board which was a right pain in the hole
turned out the ac trace was shorted

And I have the 3 thats here with me sorted out now. One was due to a damaged relay - it got a bit of a touch of the soldering iron, that melted the case, melted plastic was touching the contacts and stopping them closing. Even though the solenoid in the relay was clicking, the switch contacts weren't making it. You live and learn.

That means 6 working now, last few bits are now needed to finish them off. I'll give these ones here a good soak test, the one in Derek's already has this and I think Nigel's ones will get the same.

Its looking good folks!
