A monster box arrived today
Unless it needs lots of burn in for my amp
it will be used on my pc :(

Might pop the hood see what's in there

I just hooked mine up. Showing a steady 235 :) No sound quality issues so far but the tubes aren't even warmed yet. Nice simple design, with my chunky mains leads I'll have to raise it a bit but that's ok. Does what it says on the tin.

Yea dunno def flattening the sq here
Only spent 15 mins testing so it wasn't even warm
But I did fire some bass reliant tracks at it

I couldn't really hear a difference but will run some reference recording through it tomorrow evening. If it does sap the sound then it's onto the PC with it... At least it's shown me voltage at 235 - 240 consistently.

yea flickr changed there setup im still getting to grips with it

if i use pixresizer i lose resolution?

on tracks that have a large soundstage it is less with the power unit, loss of clarity, dynamics, bass control
that been said it certainly isnt blatantly obvious or a big drop in sq by any means
it could go unnoticed without a few cross comparisons with selective tracks
just doesnt hold the your attention as well

didnt try the pc on it yet
doubt it will have any effect with all the batteries
but ill try later

It's possible to still get smaller versions via flickr. I did it recently (eventually) but it wasn't as intuitive as before.

I forget how pixsizer handles res but I'm sure they would be easier to view and load if smaller... might be an ok trade off. Sur' try it and see!

On the sound quality... if I even suspect there's a negative effect it will be taken out... I didn't spend silly money on hifi to be sitting there wondering if I'm getting all I can get or not!

testing stuff is a bit of a compulsion here so im pretty sure its doing harm, but then again if i had terrible dirty mains i might have been delighted
ill likely use it on my pc
