8.16 orig finally works ! overall sound is great
needs more decay

PE mod.
agility better. fast notes better.
did try tighten sound further my machine cannot handle.
Don't know if you have SBGK's permission to mod his code, but this one sounds fantastic!

Re: MQN 8.16 normal orig

Post by Octagon »

7.41 normal (pa93) > 8.16 normal orig on my system

Less transparency and detail; triangle is getting lost in Griegs "Anitras Dance"...

Good news might be that Gordon might know now why the actual versions don't work with systems like mine? Hope is growing ;)

Cheers

Don't know if you have SBGK's permission to mod his code, but this one sounds fantastic!

The JC-Mod is not capable of showing details in high frequencies like delicate cymbals playing with brushes.
It gives a strange distorted kind of sound instead of clear cymbal brushing.

Win10 version also doesn't make to the regular avx

yes, that sounds about right. jitter is worsened.

is the MOD too tight sound? can loosen it.
some setups(aleg's?) need less tight sound they cannot handle it
guess is the same idea as lowest buffer not all setups can handle

Not a recommended MOD if it increases jitter.

wait me... let me mod 8.16 avx2... is this the version?

i mod based on how tight my setup can handle...
the original size for 99.9% of software is 1000 hex stack commit size

half = 800
half again = 400
....200, 100, 80,
until 40 my setup cannot handle it with mqn...

the effect is similer to lowering buffer size

basically smaller = tighter sound

shall mod this 8.16 avx2 later

am busy now

---
the effect is 100% better for piano notes. it needs agility and speed.
for vocal, could be worse(or better in my case), depending on how crap is your OS

think this mod needs tuning based on individual setup....

please learn PE mod... do it yourself

JC posted elsewhere
all earlier MODs use pkshan stack heap.
i feel that his mod is tuned for long duration note body, e.g. violin, vocal.
cannot handle fast notes with accuracy. agility is always lesser.
This is not a direction I would want to go to.

I want more agility and not less.

JC,

I must have missed the "PE mod".

Is this referring to PROCESS EXPLORER?

If so, that is a great introduction into registry reduction. And can be a great way to destroy an installation, too.

What was the MOD?
phonograph, amplifiers & speakers
