mqnplay.exe uses 1953,9 MB RAM (always) and ~25% CPU. (previously 0% RAM/ 0% CPU)
We've been there before with I think was 7.49 Normal?
Gordon sorted that extreme behaviour pretty quickly and so presumably can do so again.
Funnily enough 7.49 sounded really good despite!

Listened to 1644 8.10normal+3.64.
I think it's really good, better than my previous reference 1644 7.86normal+3.64. The sound should be a little warmer, but great precision, tried some well recorded vibraphone tracks, the attacks are very neat and fast. 7.86normal seems, in comparison, as a bit blurred picture, 8.10 is in focus.

You ought to give 8.12 Normal a try. It is fabulous. Another veil lifted. Completely in focus; smooth but highly detailed. Def my new reference version.
Gordon - I don't know what order the registers are in and I don't even know what that means, but Boy you got it right!
nige - surely you can review 8.12 and reckon we have long surpassed anything we got in WASAPI (assuming 8.12 AVX2 is as good as 8.12 Normal)?
Off to relisten to all my favourites.

Actually the reason was that Win 9 sounds too close to the unpopular discredited Win8. So MS thought distancing it by another number newer would dispel that association.
Oh yeah right.
I wonder if Win 10 has further developments of the bits that we are interested in - the Audio stack?

It seems that 9 is a bad number in Japanese culture - the third largest market for Microsoft although Apple, in the past did release OS 9, I believe - it shows what their market share in Japan was at the time :)
