To be honest Dave I was unimpressed....the music did not hold one's attention as there was no sparkle or life in it. It was composed towards the end of his life when things went a bit off the rails for him and this is possibly reflected in the mood and content. The performances were very good though.

I dont have that one Seán so I might well pick it up at some stage. He did compose a lot of works for Cello I believe.

Boccherini was apparently an outstanding cellist and his cello concertos were written in far happier times so the music is bound to reflect that I suppose. I do enjoy Boccherini from time to time; it is just that the works on that purchase of mine were quite different in tone and content....perhaps another listen at a later time now that I know what to expect....
