WAVEIO Thesycon 2.20. 7.38/PA56 working really well in my set up.

Superb clarity and great deep but controlled bass.

So should be good for you Jonathan.

Had a quick listen to PA57 normal which sounds even better to my ears than 56 and mqnplay 7.38 24/96 normal with Diana Krall/Temptation sounds sublime.

Thanks Gordon.

uploaded portaudio v59 and mqnplay 7.39 versions

these have a setting that makes them sound like old MQn

v59 will only work with win 8 and above, but the effect should be there in older versions as the setting is in mqnplay

Where did you get 2.20? Latest WaveIO driver is 2.23, previous one 2.19.
With 2.19 same situation as 2.23 (7.35 distorted, 7.36 ok, 7.37 no sound).
However the latest 1644 combinations 7.38+3.64+PA57 and 7.39+3.64+PA59 are ok with both 2.19 and 2.23 WaveIO driver on my system.

2496 7.39+3.64+59 is ok on my system as well.

7.38 + v57 better. feels dry
7.39 + v57 better. mellow. maybe little stress in drum.

7.38 + v59 not work. stuck no sound.
7.39 + v59 better. bass has some stress. need tighter/softer bass?

overall sound is tending towards solid.

2496 7.39+3.64+59 sounding superb, best I've heard 24/96.

It is! Actually moved straight to 7.39 SSE2/PA59 and marvellous.
Everything you say.

No truncation but still cutting off first second or so of each track (played singly that is).
Notable with 7.39 was that the stage was well back and stretching just outside the speakers, which I think is what the recording engineer is trying to achieve. Versions that have problems display a compressed width I find.
