Oh well that explains it. I remain unexcited by 5.14! :-(

My processor is not Haswell, but it does run it. I think I use 3.61 512 control, but I have to double check when I get home.

Clive - if you ever went to a shrink about your inability to let go of 5.14 SSE2 (which you are never going to get), they would be using termslike "Closure" "Move On" "Look to the Future" - and they would be correct!

The KS adventure is way, way more interesting & exciting. Trust me.

I do trust you Jonathan....I realise KS is the way forward and I have say I'm very pleased with it. I was only wanting to place my KS comments in context in case it helped in some way. My big problem is that I'm spending so much time playing with MQn that I'm ignoring my two record decks. Now which obsession do I need that shrink for...

I have a Garrard 301/SME3009 sitting idle giving very second best to MQn. Shame but true.

Hi Jonathan

I can tell you that current KS is not there with 5.14 yet (or what 5.14 can be for some as not everybody seems to be able to get the same results).
So interesting the KS path may be and full of potential, it is not up to the best WASAPI yet.

Doesn't matter, just wait and maybe it will get there (and beyond?).

cheers

Same thing here, run 5.14avx2 on Ivy with control 2.97 (sometimes 512 (not 512 3.61)) with no problem.

Clive, try to use both (mqncontrol & maqnplay) in compatibility with W8 and as administrator.

i take 7.18 and imagine what 5.14 sounds like

i can imagine the sound of wasapi bass + timing injected into 7.18.

7.18(or 5.14) is great for casual listening. musical content is limited really.
They might have "similar" code, but not even close sound!!!
