don't give up. you just have to listen to the old mqn.exe like 2.8x, 2.2, add those good things to 2.7x. new mqn missing musical nuances of old versions.

yes, sticky, JC. i have found out reason and fixed. thx.

uploaded v2.44 256 and v2.44.1 256 for laptop soundcard.

for laptop soundcard version may not work in "good" soundcards, but can good play for laptop soundcard or via HDMI. this version better than normal v2.44 256 coz laptop soundcard lets work with WASAPI's data buffer for more manipulation of its pointer that much reduced latency, vibration better, sound very good.
try it, and also try with onboard or via HDMI soundcard.

firstly, v2.44.1 256 for laptop soundcard
-on my laptop, it makes female vocal sounds like male vocal! distortion haha
-stuck no sound on desktop

secondly, v.2.44. forgive me, i did massive amount of registry tweaks, i am no longer able to compare
-it just sounds great. everything is great

tested v2.44.1 on laptop with Realtek soundcard, works. my laptop use Cirrus Logic HD Audio soundcard, good sound, much better than 2.44. OK, i'll try more learn.

only in code, set share-mode. but SQ not good, lesser. maybe as WMP, KMP, VLC,... or a bit better. hehe..

when i finish my svchost tweak, you must try it. it adds 10% vibration. i keep doing it wrong. a lot of trail and error.

better install on harddisk! USB sucks.

look at all these USB DAC... you need USB cable -> USB card (ie PCIe) -> motherboard.

i think DAC should be onboard!! second best is PCIe DAC. USB/firewire is third choice hehe.
