Something Old/Something New put them together and you get a Del Shannon solo album backed by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Never really got into him though my brother had loads of his stuff, but, then again, maybe I thought John Fogerty was actually him ;)
Here's something to while away the time...

Even with a dead mic Peter nails this BB King number with an impassioned performance during the chaos of his final gigs at the Boston Tea Party 1970. Nothing, but nothing, compares to P A Green.....

Probably the best guitar soloing I have ever heard (and I have heard many)!

Nice one Cyndale. You're obviously a MUSIC LOVER and then some.....
Actually when I was listening to it the other night (I have the four Lp set on that Russian label. So sonics are compromised.) I thanked my lucky stars that I don't have a mega buck system. Look, I am biased but informed too from a lifetime of listening. Put simply: my criteria has always been that the music should serve the system NOT the other way round. That's why I realised that less than ideal recordings actually sound good on my type of system. In other words I can listen, enjoy and forgot totally that I'm listening to the hi fi. Put another way: if I had a super transparent system which veered towards an ultra detailed sonic field then my record collection would be reduced by half or more. Just my tuppence worth. No offence to anyone I hope.....
