uploaded 7.15 hopefully enough bass and detail

the win 2012 core issue might be because there is still code to check for mmcss in portaudio, can remove that easily.

did I dream that Elvis was talking to Jesus. Sorry Elvis, couldn't resist.

Sounds fantastic!
Is it possible to set device number higher than 8?

uploaded portaudio v29 sse2/avx2, more code deletion, tried to remove the mmcss dependence so thread will now be bumped to highest priority and it might work on core.

Getting closer to writing directly to the device buffer, which should make a dfference.

Thanks for the work, but isn't working on my system in server core (AO Phil version). Still only mqncontrol running, mqnplay doesn't seem to start.

Tested with 7.15 and 3.64, portaudio v29.

Same combination works pretty well with minimal sever with or without full optimization. Sound improved and I like the clearness of the room details added. For me its a step forward on my system.

Take care
Thomas

With my M2Tech Hiface Dac the combination 7.15, 3.64, portaudio v29 gives a wonderful sound!
But, with my Teac Dac (UD-H01) the same combination on the same computer gives a very distorted sound. What could be the reason? Buffersize?

It's latency I bet.

uploaded portaudio v30, comfortably better than wasapi now.

It's amazing the amount of code these developers put between the source and device. If nothing else MQn should prove once and for all that the code affects the sound.

uploaded mqnplay 7.16 sse2/avx2, dials back the sound a bit as v30 pa sounds super clean

Tested with W8.1, WaveIO.

Portaudio v30 normal, mqnplay 7.16 sse, control.exe 3.64

Listening through buffalo DAC into Ventus discrete HA into K701 phones ATM.

Sounding awesome.

Love the extra clarity and focus.
