Lot of luck on the Yardbirds. I thought that sleeve was by Ronald Searle and just got Chris Dreja by chance. BTW, re the Bowi Low thing, Nick Lowe repeated this joke when he produced an album for The Rumour called Max.

The 'max' thing was a joke on Fleetwood Mac calling their LP Rumours.
Nick is quite a guy... he was the house producer for Stiff Records as well as being a member of several seminal bands such as Rockpile (with Dave Edmonds). His debut in '78 was called The Jesus of Cool (still one of my favourite LP titles!) but was called Pure Pop for Now People in America. "Basher" is still producing great songs and slightly uneven albums full of bittersweet lyrics and bar-band energy.

He also wrote a song for his then father-in-law Johnny Cash..... The Beast in Me (which cropped up in The Sopranos)

Lowe is one of those artists you know but you don't know you know..... I wish there more like him. Anyway.... back to guessing the covers....

You're spot on there Ivor about Nick Lowe, one of the great unsung heroes , producing the Damned single New Rose and their first album, writing hits like "I Knew the Bride (When She Used to Rock and Roll)", "Cruel to be Kind", "Milk and Alcohol" and "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding". A true gentleman, I believe as well. Worth a thread dedicated to himself!

Lowe is one of those artists you know but you don't know you know..... I wish there more like him. Anyway.... back to guessing the covers....
