there are a number of DIY IR transmitters that can be plugged into the headphone socket of smartphones (some smart phones already have IR transmitter) & turn it into a universal remote control when one of the many remote control apps are installed but there are also commercial offerings like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp8TkQud6WQ

The SD card buttons simply operate an up/down pointer to select folder/track to play. Random play/All play/Single Play & rest are the functions of other buttons. So, here's my thinking if we can synch the phone with the SD card so the pointer/navigation on the phone is at the same track/folder a sthe SD card pointer - we don't need to look at the SD card screen & could dispense with it - not a bad thing as it consumes power & probably emits some RF noise?

I'm already synch'ing between PC & 32GB SD card via WiFi using Chrome or any other web browser so phone isn't a problem - just need to improve the display.

I'll get the price from her for her fee + postage to your address - you pay DHL delivery for any customs chargers (will try to get low value declared ut this is a cased unit so not believable to declare it as €25 euro? - the price above which Irish customs charge duty)

I will pay Wendy via Transferwise which I have used with her before & it has zero to low fees once you guys have paid me (I also prefer Transferwise rather than Paypal payment)

I'm going to start a thread on app development for this Flashair WiFi SD card - starting with instructions for how to set it up as WiFi station on WiFi LAN & a rudimentary ui which allows you to view on a browser the folders/tracks/cover Art on the SD card via WiFi

I'm not sure if this is going to work with my set up, 'coz I mainly stream music, rather stored etc.
But, sign me up for one complete unit. :)

But I can't see this working for you, either?
Ideally, if we had control of the SD card firmware we could just have the software examining a specific folder on the SD card for new contents & played back any new files found there - kinda like using the SD card as a buffer.

So a streaming app could be found which using WiFi downloaded current file to be played onto SD card folder
