Re: MQN
6.15 avx2 is excellent, listening to Neil Young - Live at the Cellar Door. Great piano with depth , and magic on guitar strings.

Re: MQN
6.17 SSE2/361 has solved the click issue for me thanks.
Actually it has done a lot more than that as it is magical. Definitely a keeper for me.
A strikingly dynamic, detailed and clean sound but without harshness. Best yet on staging.
I found myself listening to my test tracks all the way through which is a testament to a good version. Absolutely nailed double bass and particularly piano. 'Texture and vibration'!
Closest yet to feeling the performers were in the room.
Any chance of 5.14 SSE2 to compare?
Thanks
Jonathan

Re: MQN
Just to clarify that I "compared apples with oranges" which is AVX2 (5.14) and SSE2 (6.17).
At this level, I don't think that you will get a bigger improvement with 5.14 sse2 than with the 6.17 sse2.
AVX2 > AVX > SSE2 .......that's what makes the biggest difference!

tested uiAccess="false" for a day...
it tightens the sound... but i don't feel texture quality has improved, SQ not more free
think am not ready

Re: MQN
yes, people should use tasker to fix the noises
Re: MQN
If by 'noises' you mean the clicking sounds in recent SSE2 versions, using Tasker is not the answer, as I have had Tasker running all the time through all versions and it did not stop the clicking.jesuscheung wrote:yes, people should use tasker to fix the noises
6.17 SSE2 did stop the clicking and so presumably Gordon knows what was the code that was causing that issue.
6.17 SSE2 is also the best I have ever heard on my rig; double-bass and piano particularly are superb with all the qualities that you wish for IMHO. The detail and presence of vocalists is also breath taking - literally when you can hear all their breathing!
Can 16/44.1 really get any better?

Re: MQN
jrling i see you use GUI mode. make desktop icon to largest and to smallest
1 noise here
imagine another 100 of this kind of thing.
everyone is listening to jitter until you do something about it...
everyone just sit and wait for mqn to fix all their software issues
too LAZY, people!
trust me, if you OS/bios is at decent level, tasker will become a bottleneck. that may include mqncontrol affinity tweak
(mqncontrol affinity tweak also makes sound crispy/cleaner/maybe thinner, and mqnplayer makes sound richer again, i suspect why bass is sometimes weird)
listen to mqn.exe... bass is always analog. has no tweak.
affinity tweak/io priority tweak/taskber makes cleaner/crispy sound because micro-texture is changed (in lesser quality)
proper way to make sound clean/crispy is fix jitter one by one... affinity tweak is hack in my opinion
