This is actually a good Mahler recording by Pierre Boulez. Of course no one could have compromised the sovereign singing of Anne Sofie von Otter, and Thomas Quasthoff and Violeta Urmana also sing very well.

Pepe, I just love Sofie van Otter's singing and the sound of the VPO, now I'm curious about that one.

I'm afraid I am not much of an audiophile, but I will say that these recordings sound very detailed and pack a punch in all the right places.
