mqnplay.exe.manifest
https://drive.google.com/?usp=folder&au ... Eo5QWVtOEE

it requests more privileges for mqn

-copy the file to mqn folder where mqnplay.exe is... SQ change effective immediately
-delete the file if you don't like the sound

tested with 2.71x, 2.73x, SQ only better
tested with 5.07 AVX... texture more listenable. (AVX tends to be rich and texture lacking)
tested with 5.69 sse2.. reduces harshness of see2

bad things less. good things better. maybe too crispy/dry sounding... (but don't think this would be issue for people. since people has no problem the SQ effect with affinity tweak)

would like some feedbacks
Interesting how does this compare or affect the use of taggarts tasker

I don't think this content of manifest is something we want, e.g. there are some tags missing that will revert the program to certain default values, e.g.
compatibility
Contains at least one application. It has no attributes. Optional. Application manifests without a compatibility element default to Windows Vista compatibility on Windows 7.
ProcessorArchitecture "ia64" may not be the proper value
processorArchitecture for amd64
The documentation doesn't make it clear that a processorArchitecture value of ia64 is for Itanium. For Intel x64 the appropriate value is amd64.
Cheers

I don't know if you changed your Zuma (don't see it in your signature), but with my Zuma I have no problem of playing avx2!
Nigel said, in one of the previous posts, that ONLY the Haswell users can get the "real" benefit of avx2!

In any case, with my Ivy Bridge, I always preferred better avx2 over avx and avx over sse2.

No Adam same zuma avx plays but avx2 does not original of the species(zuma) Intel board from CA Chris Connaker build. avx2 has never worked. Sure I got it wrong in that other mobo's(ivybridge/sandybridge cpu boards) play avx2 but this one doesn't.

Im only assuming that if sandy and Ivybridge or even amd chips are playing avx2 it must be in some sort of compatability mode as there is no avx2 instruction set for these chips

Than the Zuma is same as mine. The avx2 it never worked in mine also in the beginning.
I remember that I changed the control first to "run as administrator" than when I changed to W8 compatibility it worked. You can try both (the control and the player).

thx... amd64 sounds better
couldn't figure out what i did wrong

what else is incorrect?

please test with ears first before saying it is inappropriate...
if you think it is inappropriate, how much worse does it do to the SQ?
world like some feedbacks

to my ears, mqn.exe beats all mqnplay.exe
mqn.exe's musical note correctness tends towards perfection as tweaking goes on.
everytime i thought mqn is wrong, actually my setup is wrong.
i have learnt so much from mqn.exe

all versions after 3.x, struggles, fluctuates within a range, no matter how i tweak or not tweak, correctly or incorrectly.
put on headphones, every versions after 3.x will eventually make ear uncomfortable because of micro instability.

many versions prior to 2.73 is earaches-free listenable all day long. whether machine is tweaked or untweaked

seems like only AVX2 is the answer here...

thx aleg again... now the tweak is properly done... haha
couldn't figure out why the sound is better but dry and lost mellowness

i saw amd64 i immediately thought amd is nothing do with intel
guess what, amd64 works for intel cpu

aleg what else is incorrect?

---UPDATE
alright
ProcessorArchitecture=*

no need to be specific

reuploaded the manifest if anyone wants to try
https://drive.google.com/?usp=folder&au ... HFJX0dxWEE

seems bad things less... but is good things better or kept?
need more testing

on his blog, he said use win7. and you use win8.

sick of people keep trying find shitty software and compare it to mqn
of course mqn is better... yes mqn > xa+R2/8

praising mqn is goood.
critizising it is like reporting bug.. not a bad thing

need to stay open-minded and compare to some real software
And I'm sick of arrogant and rude chinese people. It was only my opinion like hundreds other here.
