shall upload the 16/44 later

Give preference to 5.47.
To my ears 5.47 Is much more rhythmic and firm sounding. 5.42 is soft and mellow sounding (dutch: week) without much body.
Haven't tested 5.42 yet but I wonder is there a difference in sound because of the cpu architecture
I'm sure there is more trivial reasons for sq changes
5.47 has the loop label optimisation
5.51 is optimised for variables as well
5.56 24/96 avx2 probably worth a listen to before the others

5.56 24/96 avx2 is excellent , didn't try the others but this one is fine for me.

If 5.31 avx2 sounded agricultural, then I guess the 5.5x must be horticultural :Well balanced, exuberant, refined, beautiful.I will refrain from picking a winner because the differences between them are subtle to my old ears, but hard pressed there seems to be a slightly improved transparency compared to 3.47 avx2 although I´m not sure I will pass a blind test.I am fine with 16.44 5.52 and 2496 5.56/5.57.
One of the nicest thing with MQn has never been mentioned on this forum:It´s "portable" in the sense that compared to JPLAY,you can install it on a modest laptop, hook up a good ,small DAC like the Ciúnas, JKDAC32 or Hugo and you will have high end sound that is on par and may be even outperform an optimized, hardware intensive 2 PC JPLAY set up.That´s an astonishing achievement. So again, thanks sgbk ,you are a true magician.
Cheers
Jorgen

think 5.57 is better.
Getting there. What I don't understand is that changing just one instruction can affect the sound and yet there are 3 calls to external code in the render loop that run lots of code, so could the sound be better or is there something that means the calls don't affect the sound so much.

5.57 24/96 avx2 is the first highend version for my second DDC, which needs 24 bit.
high frequency range is correct, very good space.
24/44.1 needed to compare with the original 16/44.1 files.

there was a register stall with 5.57 which made the piano sound watery, fixing that I couldn't get 5.57 to sound as good as 5.56.
uploaded 5.58 24/96 avx2 which is tweaked version of 5.56, rest later
just noticed an alignment issue, so shall upload again as 5.59
back to being quite an exciting sound, which is what I originally liked about MQn, though hopefully these versions are a lot more refined.
I've run out of ideas, so that's it for now.
all uploaded, sounds superb, avx2 16/44 and 24/96 anyway.

5.59 avx2 24/96 is certainly an improvement over 5.56, great vivacity and presence. Superb.

not sure about the balance of 5.59, maybe reduced treble. uploaded 5.60 16/44 avx2 which is a bit brighter. Which is the better sound, hmm ?
