Recorded in 1954, Reiner´s Heldenleben is the first high quality stereo recording ever. A tribute to RCA, it still sounds great after almost 60 years!!!!Seán wrote:

Indeed it is Pepe; the recording quality and performance is so much better than John Barbirolli's later recording with the LSO too, or perhaps it's just me? I felt it dragged, is turgid and gloopy.
