XA is most interesting software player! its SQ is directly proportional to OS tweaks. the more hard work i put into tweaking, the more correct (and bigger!) soundstage, analog sound, free/open, musical nuance. i still don't know its maximum SQ can be!

comparatively lekt is more transparent, most correct in piano, best micro-vibration, more elegant.
my time of listening is 30% XA, 30% lekt and 20% MQn + youtube

-richer! transparent/air kept!
-micro-vibration kept, tempo kept
-little better in clarity in piano. weight/flow kept. musical notes less solid than 2.39.1mod. coz 2.39.1mod has higher density(less mellow more sharp)
-soundstage can still improve. difficult to say

overall, prefer 2.39.1mod only because it is sharper less mellow- gives a little better in emotion.

shall mod this 2.40 in a minute.

prefer this soundstage. other things sound ok. very similar.

basically, 2.40 has huge vibration. needs higher density to sound sharper.

this mod very good, kept soundstage, sound more stability. vibration better, sharp enough and musical notes more correct, more emotion. preffer this version that have normal soundstage while vibration is improved. very hard with soundstage, JC. thx.

you know what, 2.40 is too 'clean'. sometimes 'dirty' is good. feels more real/ more musical nuance with a little 'dirty'

2.40 is still the king of rock. vibration is everything

i think i enjoy more with 2.40mod.

made one change of complier setting for 2.40, not good, back to normal.

uploaded v2.40.1 256 , vibration better, think brightness normal, musical notes correct, emotion.

soundstage like as 2.39.6, this oval even better, full edge sound, height and depth better, but width lesser a bit. very prefer this oval, JC, keep dimentions in your mod, of course need expand width, but don't make it rectange, hehe....

width is bigger i think. this mod always fixes things. no idea why.

i think width is closer. but doesn't change musicality. it just feels i am in the front row of a live convert.
