Agree completely but I was getting a "Groundhog Day" sort of feeling about final versions so went back to check and was surprised how often we have been here recently.
At least I was not imagining things!!
I thought it was a cheap shot, guess I'm an easy target.

quite excited about this one, best I've ever heard. talk about a live sound. ridiculously good.

No malice intended, just trying to focus minds as we appear to be loosing sight of the end game every time there is a proclamation on the final version.
Please do not loose sight of the fact that there have been many here who have contributed greatly to the development of MQN and I do not expect many want to see the end of MQN but you have to admit there have been quite a few false dawns.
Expectations have been raised that we may be moving on to another mad journey and I may have been a bit naïve to think that was the case.
I for one greatly admire what you have done and may have become too emotionally involved in the prospect of a final version so I will gladly step away if my intentions are taken as a cheap shot and allow others to work with you on the further development of what is the best redbook player out there at the moment.
I wish you well with MQN.
Cheers, Pearse.

no problem, just thought there were better ways to get your point across.

1. I tested 5.27avx2 and it's the new best for me (previously 5.07avx2 and 3.14avx before that).
My CPU is Xeon E3-1265LV2 (Ivy Bridge) and plays avx2!!!???

2. Below are the results of WASAPI test. Any reason why I can't play 24-96 with MQn?
Foobar plays fine. DAC is Calyx 24/192 with Thesycon XMOS driver.

Easy, your DAC expects 24-bit music to be presented in 32-bit containers.
That combination is not yet supported and is one that several people are waiting for (me among them).
Gordon has to do some more rework on this version and my guess is we're last in line, because the other versions are those that Gordon uses himself.

So just be patient, and hopefully all will be well.

quite excited about this one, best I've ever heard. talk about a live sound. ridiculously good.
uploaded 5.28 avx2, about 2 x as good as 5.27, unbelievable detail now. Might need some alignment changes, but already leaps ahead of anything I've heard before. simply amazing what 16/44 can deliver.

5.28 and 5.30 are again some of those unplayable versions like we had before.
Plays OK for some plays only with a lot of distorted sound for others.

In the past we had the same kind of effect with player versions that had a switched order of fetch and copy. Only a few were capable of playing without heavy distortion.

These two are very heavily distorted.

Distorted like 3.39 avx2 and old old 2.73?

It´s definitely a bug in 5.28 and 5.30 avx2 ,they are only playable with the M2Tech Young driver(and Amanero),I get distortions both with Audiophilleo and thesycon 2.20.
5.27 avx2 plays fine and is definitely a small breakthrough in terms of overall clarity.
