I will agree but only if you are =
really, really,
really,
really, sure :-))
Could not help myself after going back through the last 250 pages and 5 months when we first thought the "end was nigh".
Makes for an interesting read of what you did call an insane journey:

a lot of versions, plan to go with 5.26 if people agree that it is ok.

great, thanks to that last minute interjection by JC I think we have a winner. Shall get the rest out over the next week.
thanks to you all for being part of this insane journey.

think that's it, can't think of anything else to try.
shall get hirez out over the week.

just uploaded mqnplay1644.exe 24 bit 4.82 256 avx 64 nop
which may be better, that's the last one, I promise.

uploaded 4.82 sse2/avx, hopefully that is the last one. avx still sounds like FM radio vs sse2 MW
Shall give it a week before doing the rest.

hope to get hirez out over the next week, if 4.74 is the final version.

uploaded 4.01, would be happy to settle on this one, detail, bass, dynamics without harshness. could almost be delicate. am drinking toscana rosso, is that close enough to chianti ?

well, that's your lot, decide which sse2 version is best and see if we agree.
Posted: Fri May 09, 2014 9:39 pm
uploaded 3.36, worth the donation just for this version alone. Phenomenal.
think that's it for mqnplay. shall do the other versions and there is some work to do on control.

If everyone is happy with 3.26 I'll make up the other versions
Posted: Sun May 04, 2014 10:49 am
if everyone's happy with 3.25, I'll make that the final version for now.
Posted: Mon Apr 28, 2014 9:56 pm
uploaded 2.99 sse2 and avx tuned versions
think this is good enough, the end for now as far as SQ goes
Posted: Sat Apr 26, 2014 12:54 pm
uploaded 2.95.zip, there's no point trying to please others if I'm not happy with the sound, so think this is the final version for now. Shall get the rest of the rates and 24 in 32 out over the next week.
Posted: Fri Apr 25, 2014 8:21 pm
uploaded R2.92, hopefully detail etc fixed, would be happy to stop with this one.
Posted: Sun Apr 20, 2014 12:58 pm
R2.75, let's have another go at saying this is the final version
Posted: Mon Apr 07, 2014 9:18 pm
uploaded 2.49 which is just 2.48, but with all the sample rates coded. I don't plan on any further updates for SQ.
Posted: Sun Mar 30, 2014 10:00 pm
1.1/R2.31 really is something to behold.
How good is good enough ? Think we're approaching that point.
Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2014 12:27 pm
think I'd be happy to call it a day with 2.20, seems to tick all the boxes,
Posted: Sun Mar 23, 2014 1:45 am
ok, think have sorted out the best sound. Uploaded sse2 R2.4, very musical now.
Shall get the other versions out when I can get time.
Posted: Sun Mar 09, 2014 9:30 am
uploaded 32 bit version of control/play R1 and renamed hirez v1 control to 24 bit R1 control, use like with like. Barring any bug fixes, that's the development of MQn finished as far as SQ goes (WASAPI), whether ks will be better we'll see.
Thanks for all the testing/support and feedback, hopefully we've all learned something along the way.

ok, think v6 is as good as it gets, I'm getting fantastic sq from win 8.1 on my unoptimised haswell laptop with hdd, so hopefully it will improve further if you have an optimised system.
the leap in sq for the avx2 version is quite surprising and hopefully provides a clue as to what is influencing sq.
shall get the other versions out during the week.

have uploaded v6 sse4 24 bit version, sounds good, but again avx is tighter and more controlled.
Think we are nearing the end, this is as good as I've heard it.
Final proper donation waiting in the wings though it is good to see the charity has done well recently.
Cheers, Pearse.
