Inspired by Kevin Drumm's apocalyptic entry into my life I'm revisiting past guitar manipulators. This one has bass frequencies that would bring downl the roof of the Albert Hall! It's beautiful too.....

Thanks for telling me there was a tribute to Rory tonight (Ghost Blues)!?!?!;made it by 5 minutes!!! I managed to record it too :-) So I'll be listening to the very first album I ever heard Rory play on (Live in Europe).I first heard him doing 'Messin' With The Kid' outside a record shop up Newcastle way on a Boy's club excursion there (remember them??).I wasn't a member of the snooker club but I went along anyway for the craic.....BTW the programme was thoroughly enjoyable and the hour went by in a minute :-(......

I just can't get over how fresh this sounds, and with Ronnie's inter song patter the whole thing rocks.

I actually remember giving that album away to a friend of mine back in the days because I hated it! A few years ago I bought it back again and even though I still have it still doesn't cut it for me; I know why......Live at the Fillmore East keeps getting in the way.....

Live at the Fillmore just doesn't float my boat, maybe it's whichever you heard first? They're both filled with fine playing!

You're right John it is whichever one I heard first. Both albums contain definitive guitar workouts and I do love '.....Alabama', 'Tuesday's Gone' etc and some people are put off by the Allman's never ending jams! Still 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed' has to be one of the finest live instrumentals ever....even if it was spliced from two concerts!
