5.06 is the rawest version, 5.00 has the extra sugar as it uses prefetches.nige2000 wrote:No its very good
But 5.00 sounds better to me
It's a bit like 5.06 without the extra sugar

Merge no al is better than merge al.sbgk wrote:thanksAleg wrote:sbgk wrote:great,
have uploaded another 3 versions of that one, pick the best and I'll call it a day.
Merge no al nudges ahead of no merge al and both are better than no merge no al
So: merge no al > no merge al >> no merge no al
5.06 original was merge al, how does that compare with merge no al ?
just been listening to merge no al for the last 30 mins and sounds good.

More clarity and more live sound.
No its definitely not better, it lost much of its clarity, becoming more flat sounding.sbgk wrote:just one more - uploaded 5.06 avx norm, based on merge no al, just has one instruction different,
just wondered is it any better than merge no al ?
cheers

what were we playing with today avx or avx2?sbgk wrote:uploaded 5.06 merge no al as version 5.07
uploaded sse2, avx and avx2
avx is for avx instruction set with 128 bit bus and avx2 is for 256 bit bus ie haswell and up ( previously had been calling avx2 avx, which wasn't accurate)
avx2nige2000 wrote:what were we playing with today avx or avx2?sbgk wrote:uploaded 5.06 merge no al as version 5.07
