Howie's looking great! Are both albums more of the usual or have they got something special that warrant checking out?

This one doesn't really fit in the Amricana section but I'm including it here, anyway

Yea, The Delines are one of my favourite bands at the moment & I hope to catch them in Sept. I beleieve they played in Dublin last year - did anybody catch them?

The Patty Griffin album has a few cheesy songs on it but it's generally a great album, as is Rosanne Cash's album

Still listening to Rickie Lee

A couple of weeks ago Derek was over at my house and brought the obligatory and welcome bag of assorted CDs and vinyl. One CD I noticed was one I have myself but hadn't listened to in ages. I dug it out last night... being a "W" it was in teh bottom right hand shelf and not easy to get at plus it's a slim cover... but it was well worth it! Recorded in an empty room on the 15th floor of an apartment or office block with nothing except guitar, voice, occasional violin and an unwelcome air conditioner. Clean crisp and honest... a gem of an album.

I picked up a copy on vinyl in my haul from Acoustic Sounds. It's on the Drag City label.
Recorded in a 15th floor condo complex.
Only one song "Shoulders" was recorded twice all the rest, one take and only one take.
NigeAmp, NigeSD DAC, Airtight ATM-4, Ruark Accolades, Pink Triangle TT, Roksan Artimiz, Clearaudio Discovery, Tom Evans Microgroove Plus, Fran DAC, Dalkey Audio Interconnects.

Still haven't gotten round to getting a copy! Shame on me :( Thanks for reminding us how good it is.........

Just to let you know I can't see the video. YouTube has been 'updated' lately and it's causing viewing problems. I just post the link now.....
