MQN
Re: MQN
uploaded 4.48 sse2 and avx
seems to sound different to previous versions, quite like it so far, no harshness despite there being no prebuffereing or prefetching. good detail, bass, musicality, maybe it's my hearing tonight.
so 3.14, except it's a version I can live with.

what else did you change besides the prebuff and prefetch removal and the 512?

Re: MQN
the loop is 64 bytes instead of 128 bytes ie 1 cache line.nige2000 wrote:hmmn...sbgk wrote:uploaded 4.48 sse2 and avx

but still short on hf/detail
maybe thats whats showing up as harshness with you
if i use the control file from my 3.14/3.39 (think is the one from 3.97)
i get more or less half the hf difference back

Re: MQN
people needs to tweak their OS/bios.
resolution/harsh/bright/intense will become a non-issue
even mqn.exe2.2 is hi-res on my setup...
actually...
mqn.exe2.2 > 4.48 in details
4.48 is thinner sounding. i can see why harshness can happen
2.71 v2 is also thin sounding. but never harsh.
i bet certain micro/texture is incorrect in 4.48

Why not use Kernel Streaming directly instead of adding a layer on top?jesuscheung wrote:new asio4all is out!

anyway, has KS even sounded better than wasapi?

Yes, when using JPlay, I prefered KS over WASAPI and also over ASIO.jesuscheung wrote:i thought mqn is still using wasapi? (same level as asio4all)Aleg wrote:Why not use Kernel Streaming directly instead of adding a layer on top?jesuscheung wrote:new asio4all is out!

But I prefer MQn with WASAPI over JPlay with KS :-)
