BTW, this is the cheapest place I've found for Streacom cases & other
http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-har ... atre-cases
Example Streacom EVo 197GBP inc VAT - don't know what the shipping is from UK though?

Komplett.ie 245 incl vat and del for the evo
Scan is usually 12 to 16 gbp for del which is fine if you're getting a few bits. They have great selection of stuff

No, spent the last couple of hours trying to get the official Jplay 5.1 working with my network card on my netbook - no NUC joy yet, I'm afraid.
Going back to final beta test version!
Did your SSD+SSD Vs WTG+SSD test involve a self powered WTG?

Oh no you have the dreaded network card compatible issue? or is it just a general problem?
Xtream like all the beta's works fine on mine wirelessly streamed to modem/wired to music laptop. Hires also no problems but ultrastream is a nono
still.
Had a look at the dodgy hydrogen audio thread linked on jplay. My god this place is nirvana by comparison. Everybody just fires in their thoughts and no morbid death mobs appear. We should be grateful

no turns out i didn't have a suitable power supply
its a 5 volt dc 500-1000 MA isn't it, i found a 4.5 v 400ma phone charger maybe that sort are not suitable, multimeter said 9.5 volts and it didn't work
ill look for an alternative during the week
i got some sort of very subtle noise in the background which isn't as bad on the i7 build maybe this separate power supply to usb and passive cpu cooler will solve it
jplay 5.1 is working for me haven't got much time with it yet but seems ok so far

I solved it but it's a mystery -I moved the downloaded JPlay 7Z file into a separate folder & unzipped it in there - ran Jplaysetup, rebooted & it now works bu Jplaysetting is headed "JPlay for Josef test"?
Am I losing my marbles? Why this didn't work when I ran Jplaysetup from the Downloads folder where all my RC versions reside, I don't know?

Hydrogen Audio is a place to stay well clear of unless you bring your "official" test results run on mass spectometry!

BTW, this might be a useful tool for all Jplay Ultrastream users - it's a better latency checker than DPClatency
http://www.resplendence.com/downloads
DPClatency gave my netbook a clean bill of health for realtime audio but this doesn't.
It might be good to post latency stats for our PC configs
