jorm wrote:Now we are way off topic :-),but some clarifications:
-The V1 card uses an older chipset than the V2 and the JCAT.I have no idea if this has any impact on SQ.It may have.
-As for the Renesas firmware,I haven´t read any commentaries about SQ related benefits from upgrading-and I also doubt it is relevant-or possible .So best to let this issue rest.
-The Renesas utility app is part of the 2.1.39.0 driver package. So no separate unit and no link.
-I think you misunderstood.I have the SSD on battery, the mobo on a PPA Pico PSU fed by Teddy Pardo 12V and the card on iFi iUSB.Not SOTA,but decent.Presently I have neither the time or skill, nor the space for adding more batteries next to my overcrowded rack. Thanks for the suggestions anyway!
Apologies was only trying to help/compare notes :)

uploaded 4.08 sse3 and avx, managed to get everything into registers, best I've heard.

avx still works for me, no problems at all with it.

Well all the usual tricks to coax avx4.08 into playing failed.
This version avx 4.08 as well as avx 4.05 appears not to be compatible with Server 2012 R2.
It seems to be playing but there comes no sound.

On the Windows 8.1 it does start to play, just like 4.05 did this morning but 4.05 failed to do so after a while.

Cheers

I think we are back on track with 4.08 avx, first time a recent release of MQN has really caught my attention.
After brief listening with Control 1024 and Tasker running it does sound very good and really makes me sit up and listen again.
Thanks from me...

Just noticed Aleg having trouble....I am on Server 2012 R2 Minimal Server with AudioPhils 1.26b I think.
Running 512 for ProAudio using your batch file as well Aleg.
Oh also running MQNLoad as well with batch file.

Cheers, Pearse.

Thanks for the feedback Pearse

Hmmm, what type/brand of driver are you using?

I have had driver compatibility issues before.
BTW I am using AO 1.24

I restarted Event Log Service and indeed mqnplay crashes on my Server 2012R2 with an exception code 0xc0000005 ("Access Violation").

So on my setup it is doing something in memory where it isn't allowed to come.

Gordon can we fix this?
The fault ofset is 0x000000000000013bb

For the JCAT USB I am using the Renesas latest driver 2030 I think recommended by Marcin some time back and for the Meitner I am using the latest 2.2 Thesycon drivers.
I am almost afraid to try the 4.05 Avx as I might loose all functionality like in the past, will try it tomorrow maybe as I have a spare OS disk with an image I can go back to when things go bad :-)
Bit of an edge to voices in 4.08 Avx but there seems to be that great holographic separation back again with instruments really standing out on their own which I like.
Need to try out some good recordings before I make a final conclusion.
Cheers, Pearse.

That's virtually the same as mine except for the Thesycon version of my Sonicweld driver which are much older.
But it also happens on my usb port with Chord driver, so it doesn't seem to be driver related.
It has to be some kind of memory conflict with another program running on my setup.
It can't be security related as I am user Administrator on my 2012R2.

Difficult to locate the cause of this, but seeing the responses earlier today, it seems to be a widespread issue as only one or two people were able to get avx 4.05 playing.

uploaded 4.09 sse3 and avx, slight tune to get the treble back

noticed avx doesn't play for me if the coinitialise is set to 0x2, but that's an internal program setting.

maybe 4.08 had enough treble difficult to know
