I am not familiar with Gardiner's Bach other than to say that I watched the performances of Bach's Christmas Oratorio on BBC 4 a couple of years ago and they were superb. I have nothing by Herreweghe either, I'm afraid.
Plenty of spending potential there for you in the future Seán!!!

Yes indeed, all I need now is the time and money.

My experience of collecting Herreweghe's Bach is that the discs are often expensive. So are Suzuki's, but at least they were available in a quartet of boxed sets a couple of years ago. Now I think of it, unless you buy the aborted Archiv cantata recordings, Gardiner is quite pricy - but I would add that there is a lot of added value in JEG's magnificent sleeve notes :-)

All worth apportioning funds to though ;-)

I have, and I am nearly sure that you also have Darren, Gervase de Peyer playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto which is a fine performance.

Yes, with Peter Maag and the LSO?

It's a fine performance. The quintet recording was also superb on the Amadeus Quartet/BBC Legends disc
