Great day out in my home town. Modest and myself tootled up the motorway early and were there around 10:30am. Excellent organization by David Campbell and his team from Kronos. Highlight for me was to play a few familiar hi-rez tracks from a memory stick through the DCS gear and Focal Scala Utopias, very impressive.
On the point made earlier in this thread, a lot of folk in the North have money but they don't waste it on wine, women, song , horse racing etc they spend it on classy hardware like hi-fi and cars , bikes, boats etc. I was talking to a guy considering spending 11000 pounds on an Oracle cd player and he wasn't agonizing over it either.

How did it sound?
Cheers

Hi Matt, it looked beautiful and sounded good but I didn't think it was very special. I think you'ld feel pretty sick if you paid that for it and maybe got a better sound from a Hiface!. I played the music from a little plastic memory stick through a laptop into the DCS/Focal set-up and the sound was stunning. But I'd gladly fork out the 25k for the AudioNote amps.

Hi Ken
Thanks for the reply.
What kind of money was the DCS Dac?
Did you get a chance to hear the ATC's?
Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt, didn't really get a chance to hear the ATCs. The DCS Debussy Dac was 7500 pounds or 750 pounds one -off and 24 payments of 281 pounds (excuse this American laptop with no pound sign). Tempted ?

Thanks Modest and Ken
Pricey stuff.
The Chord QBD76 is around the £3,250 mark and looks a lot nicer. I wonder how they compare sound wise?
Cheers
