Just picking up on this thread now, I'd definitely be up for it and quite possibly have a friend who I go to gigs with who would be interested (depending on musical taste!).


It strikes me that if one gets organised it will gain momentum.

Friends would be more than welcome. Personally I'd be inclined to go to meetups even if the music wasn't to my usual taste... I've found some incredible music over the years that I would never have heard if somebody hadn't brought along a particular CD or album.

We probably need to figure out a bit of a structure (rather than a free for all) to make sure the first one doesn't go crazy. It's possible/likely that it won't be to everybody's taste, but I hope we can just get the ball rolling with something and see how we get on. Watch this space, we'll get it done.
