Re the Primare i30, I have one in the back room gathering dust Simon if you want to try it out but I doubt it will give you what you want...but hey who knows!!
Hopefully this summer I will put a weekend aside to take some pics and begin populating the classifieds, hard to get myself motivated for it.

Yeah, I think I'll be borrowing that Krell from Cloney at the next available opportunity. I'm less interested in the Primare, I like it in some systems but it's not what I'm looking for here, I don't think.

Very much looking forward to hearing your reports when you get the system up and running, Dave. It's been a while!!

It's just not heavy enough.

Exactly, and I'm in no danger of cutting myself on razor-sharp heatsinks either. I mean, what the hell?

Hi Si, what about the bigger Meridian amps, 300w jobbies like the 559, and at 42Kgs are in the heavy two-man-lift league.
NigeAmp, NigeSD DAC, Airtight ATM-4, Ruark Accolades, Pink Triangle TT, Roksan Artimiz, Clearaudio Discovery, Tom Evans Microgroove Plus, Fran DAC, Dalkey Audio Interconnects.

Don't think I've ever heard them. You're not using them as a door-stop/paperweight somewhere, are you?

Actually, I see that the new Arcam power amp has made it into this month's Stereophile Class A list. Must ask the boys in the shop about that one too.

A colleague at work has just pulled the trigger on a pair of Brystons last Saturday, with a 17 year guarantee on them, rated at 1Kw of power. Not sure what the model is but got them off Audio-markt for about 12,000.

Might be an idea?

I recently had the pleasure of having my ears firmly pinned back, in a very good way, listening to a this amp in full flow.
All Meridian set-up CDP, PreAmp and the 559 Amp, glorious.
Real grip and power combined with the resolution and dynamic response we forumites love.
