Is it as good as they say it is? I've seen it on vinyl but passed it by...just started to read the interview they gave to Wire last night;got as far as one of them saying they preferred Jonny Trunks release of 'The Wicker Man' to the official version without the dialogue/sfx etc. I nodded in the affirmative and promptly fell asleep :-))

I bought this a couple of months ago and wasn't too impressed on first listen but having given it a chance it has started to grow on me.I have their debut album "The noise made by people" so i was expecting something a bit different. Most certainly only for true ambient lovers.

Putting this lot here.A favourite composer of mine from way back; I still remember when I first heard Side Two of 'Discreet Music' and thinking I'll have to check more of this guy's stuff. Over the years I collected 5 of his albums including his original reading of 'The Sinking of the Titantic'. So for the next week I hope to be reacquainting myself with his music again...Wonder is he still doing his stuff?

Have a listen to this. I'm a big fan of Iannis Xenakis' work in the classical field but his endeavours in electronic music are worth hearing as well. This piece is entitled La Legende d'Eer and is an elecroacoustic work written in the late 1970s. It was originally wriiten for seven channels and you can sense the spaciousness in the music. One word of warning: don't be tempted to raise the volume levels too high - those high frequencies will get to you. Oh, and take it slowly, and savour each piece individually - there are layers upon layers of micro detail there waiting to be assimilated.

If you are intrigued, this is also available on the Mode label (http://www.moderecords.com/profiles/iannisxenakis.html) along with many other examples of this great man's works.
