This is one I first listened to 4 years ago, very early on in my CM listening days, and as I remembered saying to Fergus is something I struggled a bit with, primarily because the musical language was so unfamiliar. As a consequence I have left it on the shelf all this time with a view to giving it another go a few years down the line, when my understanding had matured a little...
well, now is the time...

On vinyl, two very different versions of the same work....

Beethoven wrote the Piano Trio arrangement of his Second Symphony in order to create greater accessibility to his work and, therefore greater sales too.

yes, it's amazing how your tastes mature and how you become acclimatised to a soundworld in time... no problems this time round, although it is undoubtedly still more challenging in certain solo passages...
