This one features the playing of Frans Bruggen, Gustav Leonhardt and Nikolaus Harnoncourt among others.

^^ Good morning Fergus... wonderful music eminating from the windows of chez Byrne I see...

I'm continuing my Schubert early String Quartet odyssey at present, before embarking on yet more choral music... ;-)

^^ yes, it's one of those things where I know the last 4 so well now... yet his early, classically orientated SQs are rarely recorded or heard, and as a consequence I have rather overlooked them. Surely, they aren't in the same league at all as 12-15, but they are lovely all the same; very Mozartesque..

Hello young Jared, do you like that set? I was keen to get a copy of the complete Schubert Quartets, I choose the Kodály cycle on Naxos and I really like them, so I'm just curious about the Melos box set.

Oh dear, [ psst, don't tell Jared] I don't have any copies of Brahms Requiem in my collection, I must address that next year. I love his symphonies and chamber pieces so this is one for the New Year resolution list.

I'd love to get a copy of that performance.
