Grieg -- and Baroque recordings, including non-religious Bach -- are top of my most wanted list. I would be interested in your thoughts on those performances.fergus wrote:Grieg String Quartets....
Griegs Chamber Music is not all that well known....for good reason I suppose. There is nothing earth shattering in the String Quartets (one of which is incomplete) and the textures are on the dense side, even for a String Quartet. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the music but it is just a little tough going. Still at Naxos prices it is a good introduction to this music and the Olso Quartet play very well (I have them playing some of Nielsen's String Quartets as well). Sample, I would say!!Seán wrote:Grieg -- and Baroque recordings, including non-religious Bach -- are top of my most wanted list.
