There was a guy in Tower on Sunday and he asked me about the Jenkins one and when I pointed him in the right direction he came back over to me and asked me for a recommendation other than the afore mentioned superstar and so he walked out with a copy of Lava in his hand.

I looked for a copy of this in Tower a few times but never came across it. Where there any copies left Seán?

I don't know Dave to be honest. The CD costs €19.99 in Tower and is presented in a jewel case whilst the CD is €9.99 on jpc but it arrives in a sleeve with no accompanying information.

Same as. I have to be very careful when bringing home any new vinyl and then I wait for my chance to sneak it in with the rest on the shelf. I've also got until Sunday to see if I can sneak in a Wadia before she arrives back on Sunday night.

Nice choice, Dave. I have the 861SE with the heavy-duty TEAC VRDS transport and I love it dearly. Bulletproof build quality and amazing sound quality. By the way, it may still be possible to upgrade the 861i to the SE version - have a word with Ivan at Cloney Audio about this - which will be a significant upgrade. The modern Wadias - 381 and S7i - are using a new transport designed by Austrian firm Stream Unlimited, and the 581 and 781 both use a Sanyo CD-ROM drive that has been extensively modified to Wadia's own specifications. These new models have received fantastic reviews but, as anybody who has used a CD player with the TEAC VRDS transport (currently used exclusively by Esoteric and dCS, I believe) will tell you, they are the best in the business. But, in the meantime, sit back and enjoy the new player.

I was so impressed with the Toscanini Beethoven which he did with the same orchestra that I decided that I would definitely go for this one when I spotted it recently. I have no idea what to expect but that is the fun of taking a chance!
