I've tried to run AVX 3.39, the version time-stamped 6:59. Maybe I've done something wrong but I get appcrash when it tries to talk to my dac. Admin priv is set. 3.27 AVX and SSE2 work fine as does 3.39 SSE2.

Am I running the version with the bug?....I'll try other versions.

Hello Gordon,

3.39 has a perfect balance in sound, space and energy.

No problems with complex orchestra acts, never heard finest details comes without sharpness.

best regards

what other players have you tried ?

it does seem to have amazing mids and airyness

the code that I'm responsible for is probably optimal now, Lekt has made progress in breaking down the wasapi code, but feel the real benefit will be going to kernel streaming as the wasapi code is still about 150 instructions in the render loop, it's surprising my code has any effect. What would optimised kernel streaming code sound like ?

Thanks Gordon. While you were doing that I rebooted and it then worked. Quite why 3.27 AVX would run but 3.39 AVX needed a reboot is weird but that's AVX for you!

Now to listen....

Listening to 3.39 v2 Avx
Strange thing
Don't think it's comparable to anything

Then again could be the just the stress of Sunday shopping

Exciting

3.39 avx has more delicate treble than the sse2 version. avx may also have slightly heavier bass but I'm not sure I can say which of avx or sse2 is more correct in the bass. Both are stunningly good!
