That is a lovely set. Dave, have you got the earlier Cluytens/BPO cycle? Fergus brought it to my attenton and it's fabulous, you will pick it up for a vey good price too, it's as good as the HvK set.DaveF wrote:Symphony No.9
I dont have the Cluytens set Sean. To be honest I dont think I'll be getting it either. I'm happy with the sets that I already own which are a good mix of modern and HIP's. I dont really experience a sense of exploration etc anymore when I listen to a Beethoven symphony unlike say any new Mahler purchase. Dont get me wrong, I do like Beethoven's symphonies a lot but having multiple sets doesnt really appeal to me as much as other composers.Seán wrote:have you got the earlier Cluytens/BPO cycle?
