Really couldn't resist the purchase of this disk, after the wonderful Clarinet Sonatas disk a couple of months ago:
and true to form, it's superbly played... what a gem!

Last night and this morning I have had Mahler melodies playing in my head. I avoided the temptation to listen to the HvK/BPO performance and went for this instead. It is great music-making.

it's very quiet in here today.... no Fergus. He must have been up all night, watching the Rugby... ;-)

You know that I prefer JSB on the Harpsichord but Hewitt does have a lovely touch in this music.
