I tried only the latest AVX versions.
The avx 3.09 is my favourite so far. The best bass I ever heard or could imagine! Better definition that any of other avx's. Every note is more pronunciated and separated.
The avx 3.11 has a bit more body, but everything else I like better in the avx 3.09.

Please give a good try to this version!

yes yes. 3.09 is superb. sse or avx doesn't matter here. only subtle differences.
flow, details, balance, bass control, vocal depth, weight... all well done.

listening a bit more...

if listening at really close distance with headphones, then 3.09 sse easily wins. sse has free sounding.
3.09 avx micro details is more 'together', maybe overly together. constant reminder of digital intensity.

3.09 avx flow and focus is forever better.
sse flow and focus is almost as good, not quite.

haven't tried 3.08 nor 3.11. don't think i need to! 3.09 is that good

alright, now comes 3.11....

3.11 sse has more natural stage better focus/flow than 3.09 sse.
but 3.09 has less intensity more free sound.

prefer 3.09

EDIT

prefer 3.09 sse and 3.11 avx because they feel less intense more free

EDIT2

now compare to some older mqn. new mqn is a little aggressive sounding.
apart from that, new is better than old.

Call me crazy, but I prefer 2.62 with avx control over 3.11 in whatever combination. All this on 24/96.

Sounds richer, more bass extension, deeper soundstage, more natural tone.

There you have it! Battle on guys...

I agree, just tested 3.09 in all combinations. A tad better than 3.11 but still too aggressive in my ears. Very bright and open, but not as natural sounding (take a violin as reference).

I am sure Hells Bells is a good reference too....for something... :-))

Guys I cant seem to find version 2.62 avx in archive.....
What exactly is the file name called.

I would appreciate a steer in the right direction.

I currently use 2.59 as I prefer a more analog tonal sound.... curious to hear
cheers

Conversion though, should work correctly with the latest mqnload. Have you noticed that I have changed some folders? Ffmpeg.exe and flac.exe now must be stored in Data subfolder and converted files are now automatically stored in Cache subfolder instead of Temp.
Thanks Christoph, I missed the change in location of the converters, will try that this evening.
I am an MQNLoad convert so definitely do not want to loose its functionality for ease of conversion and playback.
By the way well done on steering AO towards MQN, glad to hear Wasapi playback for MQN is in consideration during development.

Certainly is a great deal of activity on the forum this past week with good results!
Cheers, Pearse.

it has bass like 2.62 avx. i love this version. live and musical. natural. vinyl like. i use it for bass.
