services.reg has all my services.
was: 3.01MB
now: 2.88MB

SQ increases by 0.5-1%.

mainly reduction in jitters.

if delete one key works, delete all keys work!
if delete one key doesn't work, delete all keys don't work!
this will be my rule of thumb from now on.

much much easier than deleting services! some works some don't. headache...
CANCELLING MY PREVIOUS TWEAK ON DELETING SERVICES. UNTIL I KNOW HOW TO DO IT WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES IN SQ. no change in what services should or should not be disabled. 'disabled' sounds different to 'manual' to 'auto'. if in doubt, put on manual or do nothing.

----TWEAK 47----
soundcard xonar STX install guide:

1. download uni xonar
2. choose 'normal'. don't choose 'c-media'
3. when installation asks you 'accept' or not, DON'T ACCEPT.
*you will lose native ASIO as side-effect. however, you will lose all other useless DSP craps. (native ASIO doesn't sound that good anyway. bye)
*SQ becomes a little more stable.
4. if you do 'ACCEPT',
* please disable all related windows startup
* don't use 'hifi' mode as suggested by your STX manual. it sounds like DSP to me. intense sound.
* leave all settings to default.
5. disable all recording features.
6. MOD your driver using my earlier post. install MOD.

recommend:

think i already posted these:

24 - Überflüssige NTFS-Dateizugriffe ausschalten

makes sense to the zero
"TimeStampInterval"=dword:00000000

this one should but doesn't work. 1 as default sounds best. 0 is not good. 100000 is not good. doesn't make no sense.

quote:
TimeStampInterval
Registry path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Reliability\
Version

Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000.

This key defines how often LastAliveStamp (or heartbeat) is written to the registry. By default it is written every minute in Windows Server 2003 and every five minutes in Windows 2000.

Am I missing something here, or does the poster on mydigitallife list the same two keys for both the USB polling and the NTFS tweak?:
23 - USB Abfrageintervalle ändern.reg
- Change usb query intervals

By default, Windows 7 queries the USB ports every millisecond. In some cases this short checkinginvertal prevents that the PC and especially the notebook can't go into standby mode. This lets 7 check every 5 milliseconds instead of 1ms.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\0000]
"IdleEnable"=dword:00000001
24 - Überflüssige NTFS-Dateizugriffe ausschalten
- Turns unnecessary NTFS-File accessing off

The NT-file access creates for each file and folder stamps with information about the last access occurred. To save computing time, this feature will be turned off.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\0000]

That are the tweaks in *.reg files, but there are more tricks in the PDF-files that are very interesting.
Otherwise, nice tweaks, JC. Am still catching up with you with registry slimming, though... ugh.

pkshan updated his reClock mod to XS mod 01Y
http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_72b3301c0100v1xj.html

must update if you had previous version installed. previous version makes sound not free in certain frequency ranges. been bothering me for a long time. i didn't know it causes it.

1 download original reclock 1.8.8.3 (also recently updated)
2. overwrite original with mod files
3. follow instructions to setup

also there is new xa1070a. same sound. more correct.

seems that cannot touch

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\INTEL\Display\igfxcui\Media]
"EnableSTE"=dword:00000001
"EnableACE"=dword:00000001

disabling STE and ACE makes sphere shape into box shape so edges feel fat+slow. incorrect
