Paul, you've expelled yourself yet again. Thank you for taking the time....

"Unseen bud's infinite hidden well.
Under snow and ice.
Under the darkness"

Thank you, Dermot. That's very kind. Hope was the most fragile of Judee Sill's emotional frailties, a concept beautifully expressed in one of her greatest songs, Till Dreams Come True: "Lean your head over and have no fear/Hope springs eternal to all ears that hear/Lay down your longing and cry your tears/Your spark shall be honored, your heart's being steered", written at a time when she was clinging to her life's hopes and dreams by her fingertips.

And still you torture me with visions
You give me terrifying dreams......."

Turbulent Indigo is one of Joni's best, most consistent albums since her Seventies heyday and The Sire of Sorrow is one of the finest songs written by anybody in the last 30 years.

I am (re)visiting Joni's work regularly and with a deepening appreciation for her poetic depth and ability, the range of her output and the quality of the many musicians who have collaborated with her over her lengthy career.
