Forgot about the new release, thanks for that Dermot...As for Aion,it could be a soundtrack for an evening in Bunratty castle.
The remasters are top quality...A band the older I get the more I appreciate their talents as musicians...

Probably my favourite Paul Simon album.
A wonderful, sentimental look at the mythological life of the small-time musician "carrying soft guitars in cardboard cases".
The session band are on top form throughout.

You got it! Brilliant :) Easily one of my Lps of the year. I love the tone he gets on his electric guitar too. Every time I listen to the album I never know where it's going to take me. Improvisation at its most mesmerising....A very nice lad to talk to as well. See below for reply to one of my emails enquiring about his rig out etc:
"those little roland cube amps are ace, funnily enough tahts what michael chapman plays through, and what he recorded the "resuurection and revenge of the clayton peacock" on. the effects on that album are just from the amp, no others
myself, i use a few effects but i guess one thing is that i play through a fender valve amp which has a particularly nice tone. mine is a fender hotrod deluxe with a jensen speaker replacement and some nice JJ valves. i use a ibanez "de7" delay (with a tape echo mode), electro harmonix "wiggler" valve tremelo/rotary speaker effect, electro harmonix "holy grail" reverb and a blackstar "ht boost" valve boost pedal. the valve boost just warms up the sound a little and makes it a bit bassier. i also have a new pedal, and electro harmonix "freeze" pedal that takes a millisecond long sample of what you are playing and makes a drone out of whatever is going through it when you step on it, but i dont have any tracks recorded with this effect on. i also use an ebow, which is how i get the sound at the end of "cloud forest"]
i find that going on sites like proguitarshop.com and other places where they sell boutique and analog effects and then searching for pedal demos on youtube is a great way of hearing and learning about the different pedals and what they sound like. although of course if you get the chance to try them for yourself thats even better! im always buying, trying and then sellign pedals, trying to find good new ones but really i dont rely on or use effects that much really.. ]
cheers and all the best, and thanks for the kind comments - its much appreciated!"
