Wow

Is this avx "able"
uploaded avx version.
I can't run any of these new avx versions. I am wondering if I'm supposed with i7-2760QM? If so, what is the right control for?
Adam

Do you have on mqnload the "Run as Administrator" checkbox enabled in the properties tab?
I notice that Windows 8.1 is much more restrictive in its default settings.

Cheers

2.62+1.4 is very good as well. It's on the warm side and very interesting in reproducing voices. Low end is very good.

New mqnload 1.04.14.0417 works fine on my system. The new mqncontrol feature is very appreciated. Thank you very much.
Hi 1.5 is the version to use to get hires. I got it working on 24/192 but not 100% sure it is glitch free as on some occasions I have got nothing on hires stuff.
The problem was not originated from control 1.4 (the same happens with 1.5, only 1644 and 2444), but from ffmpeg using mqnload. I tried different ffmpeg versions, the latest (ffmpeg-20140421-git-84d6ba6-win64-static) included, but I can play 1644 and 2444 only.
As long as I use flac.exe everything works fine up to 24/192 (with both control 1.4 and 1.5).

I tested the versions from sse2 2.67+1.5 to sse2 2.75+1.5 and they are all very good and better than my previous reference (sse2 2.55+1.4). I'm not sure which I prefer, but 2.75+1.5 > 2.67+1.5 in my opinion and from sse2 2.73+1.5 to sse2 2.75+1.5 are similar. More listening should be needed, but sse2 2.78 has the priority now.

R2.79 - down to 7kb

R2.80 changed to windows exe, seems smoother, more analogue like

2 versions of R2.80 for comparison, think the no vp one has more detail

had a go with several versions!
2.7x works on 2012/8/8.1/R2

R2.75 sse2 + R1.5
R2.79 sse2 + R1.5
their style are the same.
has a warm layer on top of sound.
sound is not direct like AVX versions
sound is not live performance like old 2.71 SSE4
sound has makeup? enjoyable nevertheless.

R2.78 AVX + R1.5. more direct.

ok. have to say, vocal has strain in all the new versions.
please listen to the old 2.71 v2 or v3 SSE4. vocal was strainless back then!

also, with R2.75, R2.78, R2.79, has very good main music (e.g. vocal) has strength and deep. very nice.
but background music e.g. drums/pianos cuts back on the weight/depth. less than norm.

you need to upgrade your system, 2.79 detail retrieval is far superior to any previous version, that should have been the main finding, but you don't mention it.

alright... relistened to R2.79...

yes, 2.79 is very rich sound. high texture
turn up the volume. listen carefully to the micro-details.
a b compare to old mqn.exe2.82. micro-details isn't cleaner.
if you make it cleaner and keep it as rich, then you have quality hi-resolution.

Don't know what to say, I'm hearing detail in the instruments which was not even there in previous versions and you're talking about dirty micro detail.
